Dr. Drew
Originally from San Pedro, CA, Dr. Drew grew up immersed in water sports as both a competitive swimmer and surfer. He completed his physical therapy training through two of the top-ranked programs in the country, earning his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Southern California and completing post-doctoral Orthopedic Residency training through Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.
Dr. Drew is an APTA Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) with over a decade of experience treating orthopedic and sports-related injuries. Before entering clinical practice, he served in the military and worked extensively in government contracting. That experience helped shape the disciplined, focused, and adaptable approach he brings to patient care today.
He specializes in orthopedic and sports rehabilitation, movement optimization, injury prevention, and return-to-activity, return-to-sport, and performance care. Dr. Drew works with a wide range of patients, from competitive athletes to active adults recovering from injury, surgery, or everyday orthopedic conditions. His treatment approach is evidence-informed, collaborative, and centered around understanding each individual’s goals, lifestyle, and physical demands. He integrates hands-on care, movement analysis, and progressive exercise and movement training to help patients recover fully and perform at their very best.
Dr. Drew has advanced training in Functional Biomechanics of the Lower Quarter, with specialized training in the integration of technology into clinical practice, including movement analysis and biomechanical assessment to support rehabilitation, performance optimization, and return-to-sport decision making.
Dr. Drew is also an APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor and has served as a lab instructor in physical therapy education, helping teach musculoskeletal evaluation, clinical reasoning, and patient care management to doctoral physical therapy students. In addition, he is certified in Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) training.
He is currently completing an advanced Lower Quarter Biomechanics Fellowship through the Movement Performance Institute under the mentorship of Chris Powers, further deepening his expertise in movement analysis and clinical biomechanics.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Drew is an avid surfer and fitness enthusiast who understands firsthand the physical demands of training and staying active. He also enjoys sports and landscape photography, an extension of his attention to detail and appreciation for movement and the outdoors.
