Dr. Kira
Originally from El Paso, Texas, Dr. Kira moved to Los Angeles to attend UCLA, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Integrative Biology and Physiology while working with UCLA Athletics as a Student Athletic Trainer. That early exposure to high-performance sport strengthened her fascination with human movement and ultimately inspired her career in physical therapy.
Dr. Kira earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from University of Southern California, graduating at the top of her class with the Outstanding Scholarly Achievement Award and induction into the ACAPT National Student Honor Society. She later completed a post-doctoral Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency, where she received advanced, mentored clinical training in differential diagnosis, movement assessment, manual therapy, and sophisticated clinical reasoning. During residency, she also led a research initiative focused on strengthening patient-centered communication in healthcare.
With experience spanning outpatient orthopedics, sports rehabilitation, oncology rehabilitation, and home-based care, Dr. Kira brings a broad and seasoned clinical perspective to her work at Elevate. She has collaborated closely with multidisciplinary teams and contributed to operational initiatives that enhanced clinical workflow and patient outcomes. Her areas of expertise include hypermobility, chronic pain, postoperative recovery, balance impairments, deconditioning, and breast-cancer–related functional limitations. She integrates skilled manual therapy with targeted strength and movement-based rehabilitation to address pain, restore mobility, and optimize performance. She is an APTA Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist and certified in Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) training.
Dr. Kira practices along the full spectrum of prevention, rehabilitation, and performance, believing deeply that physical therapy is one of the most powerful tools for improving movement longevity, resilience, and overall quality of life. Her philosophy aligns seamlessly with Elevate’s mission to help patients live stronger, healthier, and more active lives at every age.
As both a physical therapist and a registered yoga teacher, Dr. Kira blends mindful movement, strength, motor control, and body awareness into her sessions, helping patients feel strong, connected, and confident in their bodies.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Kira enjoys Pilates and yoga, exploring new hiking trails, traveling, and long walks on the beach.
