Meet the Founder
Dr. Meredith Soelberg
Dr. Meredith Soelberg is the founder of Elevate Physical Therapy & Fitness, an evidence-driven practice recognized throughout Los Angeles for redefining what physical therapy can and should be. She built Elevate to rise above the traditional insurance-based PT “mill” and big-box fitness models, creating an environment where rehabilitation, prevention, and human performance live on the same continuum and where patients receive the time, expertise, and advanced technology required for exceptional outcomes.
A respected clinician and business leader, Dr. Soelberg has spoken at conferences and on podcasts and has mentored practice owners on delivering uncompromisingly high standards of care regardless of insurance limitations. She is known for advancing a model in which physical therapists are central providers for musculoskeletal health, injury prevention, long-term wellness, and elite performance.
Dr. Soelberg received her Master’s degree in Physical Therapy (MPT) from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from EIM. She earned both her BS and MBA from the University of Illinois. Her early experiences as a nationally competitive gymnast and Division I athlete, and the injuries she rehabbed to return to sport, combined with having a loved one with Multiple Sclerosis, set her on a path to heal and ease the pain of others.
Advanced Clinical Training and Areas of Expertise
Dr. Soelberg established her clinical foundation at Rush University Medical Center, one of the nation’s top-ranked hospital systems, where she treated patients across orthopedic, sports, and neurological rehabilitation. Her advanced training spans orthopedic and sports rehabilitation, manual therapy, pain science, biomechanics, and movement-based rehabilitation and performance training. She is also a Certified Performance Specialist (C-PS), is certified in Personalized Blood Flow Restriction (PBFR) through Owens Recovery Science, is a Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist (FRCms), and is a STOTT-trained Pilates Instructor, integrating these systems into her rehabilitation, mobility, and performance programming.
Her extensive work with Dr. Christopher Powers, PhD, PT, FAPTA (USC), a leading researcher and internationally recognized authority in lower-extremity biomechanics and movement analysis, strengthened her expertise in biomechanics and return-to-sport testing and was foundational in shaping her adoption of technology, video analysis, and objective data as essential components of high-quality care. This approach underpins the clinical philosophy at Elevate and the standards she teaches her team, ensuring a consistently elevated level of care.
Movement, Technology, and Human Performance
As a manual therapy, biomechanics, and movement expert, Dr. Soelberg specializes in identifying and treating the root causes of pain and performance limitations. She incorporates 2D gait analysis and video-based movement assessment into evaluation and return-to-sport testing to capture key biomechanical insights and track progress over time. By integrating video analysis and Tindeq dynamometry strength testing, she creates evidence-informed rehabilitation and performance programs tailored to each patient’s needs.
Her clinical expertise spans youngsters to older adults, youth athletes to pros, and high performers across industries, including entertainers, executives, and other high-profile individuals who value her discretion, expertise, and elevated standard of care.
Women’s Health
Dr. Soelberg applies her musculoskeletal expertise to women’s health, with specific attention to the demands on the pelvic floor and lumbopelvic system in active women and athletes. She understands how hormonal shifts influence bone density, muscle, tendon and ligament health, strength, and pain. She incorporates this knowledge into her rehabilitation and performance programming to help women maintain strength, power, and resilience throughout their lifespan, in life and in sport.
Professional Involvement and Personal Interests
Dr. Soelberg is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, including the Sports, Orthopedic, and Private Practice sections. She has consulted for Fortune 500 medical device companies on emerging pain-management technologies and contributed to clinical research initiatives developing next-generation medical devices and medications.
Outside the clinic, she is often found on a pickleball court, at a yoga or Pilates class, on a trail, or out for a run; she has completed numerous marathons. She loves spending time with her husband and their two boys. Their athletic journeys, from youth sports and club teams to Varsity sports at Santa Monica High School and Division I lacrosse at Yale, have given her the parent POV on the demands placed on developing athletes and the families that support them.
